First year in the desert. .

I didn't realize it, but a couple of days ago marked our first full year of being in Arizona. Can you believe it? It doesn't seem as though we've been here a year. Chris makes fun of me and says I'm already hitting my 'mid-life crisis' because I can't believe how time flies! Karis will turn 3 in a couple of days and Silas is now almost 3 months and our warranty on our house is going to expire 'cause we've had it for a year now and Chris is about to leave for deployment #2 . . and all in a year! It seems like just yesterday I was signing the papers for the house and picking up the keys and already so much has happened here in this house - so many walls colored on, falls and births on the stairs (well just the one actually), friends and family visits . . we consider ourselves blessed to have had such a great first year here in the desert!

But, on another note, yesterday all the wives from Chris' squadron got together and ate lunch at a park and all our kids played and it was fun (now that it's not 100+ degrees out)! And I wonder, so many of the wives were saying how they never leave their house but how much they enjoyed having lunch and letting our kids play, and if everyone enjoys it, why don't we do things like this more often, or are they just saying that they enjoy it and going home and telling their husbands what terrible people the rest of us are? Makes you think . . . However, I really did have a good time and wouldn't mind getting together and talking and letting our kids play again (just so you know where I stand)!

Oh! And we found out last night that Chris' Aunt JoAnn and Uncle Phil are going to come and spend a couple of days with us - so we're excited about that - we love having company, and we haven't seen them in a while, so it'll be good to do some catching up!

Man, wish we could come visit! Glad you're enjoying life in AZ, and I hope you continue to feel more at home, make friends, and all that good stuff.
