Well, we're back. This past weekend we packed up the car drove 13 hours up to Colorado Springs for Chris' interview and what a trip it was! And after it all we've decided we love Colorado!
After 13 hours in the car on Saturday, and after a late start, we arrived at billeting at about 11, tired and ready to be out of the car. So while Chris unpacks the car, I took the kids inside to get them into bed. All of the sudden, our car alarm goes off and we can't find the key fob to turn it off. Well, we found it, pressed the button, and it didn't go off. And it's not like we have an alarm that's all quiet or not noticeable, trust me, it's loud. So, Chris starts the car, thinking it would go off, but oh, no, not only does the alarm not turn off, but it actually changes to a much higher and much louder pitch. Eventually, it turns off. And just as we are enjoying the silence and the ringing in our ears is starting to die down, what happens? Oh, yes, the alarm goes off again! What a way to make an entrance! Let everyone know that they have the honor of being in the presence to the King family, huh?
The next couple days we spent looking at the town and doing some sight seeing, and if you've never been to Colorado - go! It's worth it! (Pictures to post later)
Chris' interview went well (or so we think). He gave a 20 minute presentation, sat in on a class, met the big wigs of the Philosophy Dept. All in all, his interview lasted about 4 hours. We found out that they are hiring 2 people and there are only 6 that they are interviewing. The last interview will be in April, so any time after that is when we suppose that we'll hear. And so we're optomistic. Our part's done, so now we sit and wait.
