How to make a PB&J sandwich

Through the years, Karis has really gotten to like PB&J sandwiches. She would live on them if she could! When she was younger, I hadn't quite mastered the art of making a sandwich that would leave little to no mess as PB&J seems to be very messy! She would always take the two pieces of bread apart, lick the inside (like an oreo), and leave the bread! I was distraught! How do you make a PB&J for kids where they'll eat the bread and look like they've washed their face and hands in the last few months? I discovered there are two different kinds of PB&J! There's a tall person PB&J with as much peanut butter on one slice and the same with jelly. Then there's a short person's PB&J. Here's how you do it:

Step 1: get two slices of bread for each sandwich you're going to make.
Step 2: Spread peanut butter on one slice of bread, making a very very thin layer of peanut butter.
Step 3: Spread jelly on second slice of bread and leave an even more thin layer of jelly as it can create a bigger mess than the peanut butter.
Step 4: Do one last check to make sure there's no lumps left of either peanut butter or jelly.
Step 5: Slap the bread together, cut and serve.

Well, I asked Chris to make lunch on Saturday so I could run a few errands and being the wonderful husband he is, happily made the kids some PB&J sandwiches - Daddy style! And this is what I found:

Do you see all the PB&J on those sandwiches?? It's all wrong! They're not eating the grape jelly (grape = jelly for short people) they're eating Red Raspberry Jam (which equals tall person jelly)! Chris obviously didn't get the memo about how to make a PB&J sandwich for short people. So I accepted the fact that they were going to leave bread on their plates (I could just save whats leftover for their next sandwich ~ hmmm) while enjoying enough PB&J for a tall person. With my fate accepted, I set out the ziploc baggies to save their bread for a later sandwich (I'm kidding!) and ate my lunch. We're still trying to clean all the layers of jelly off Silas' face!
