Our tour of the firehouse

Our home school group went on a wonderful firehouse tour today.
These firemen are wonderful! We had actually met them before at the birth of our little guy.
Because of that, I couldn't wait to go on this tour!

They did a good job at not giving a bunch of the info that kids don't care about. Which was nice. They got right to the point and the first thing they did was let 'em squirt a hose! They had this little house with fire coming out of the windows (a fancy piece of painted wood, really) to give them something to point at instead of each other. Someone was thinking!

They liked Silas. He was the youngest there so he got to try on their special coat.
You can see in the background, the little pink arm raised is Karis' because she wanted her turn.

Fireman G did a bit of talking, but he really held the short people's attention. Or maybe they were focused on the guy in the suit. Hard to tell from here. They were fascinated by all that went on though!

I know this one especially isn't great, but I thought I'd toss it in there anyway. If you've lasted to the end, that is.

When we left I asked the kids what was their favorite part of the tour and what did they learn.

Karis said her favorite part of the tour was their kitchen and she learned you shouldn't touch matches or lighters. I'm glad she learned the latter part, but my, oh my.
