Karate

Silas has been taking karate since the beginning of January and somehow I didn't tell my mom!

I'm going to win the best daughter of the year award for 2010!

I felt bad that I didn't tell my mom about such a life altering detail of our lives (I mean we have to go to karate class twice a week now) and I promised to take pictures at the park of Silas in his karate suit -or uniform or some fancy name I don't know yet- to make up for the fact that I didn't tell her for almost four weeks. So here they are.

Wait, Caedis? Woohoo??

'I'm right here, mom, didn't go anywhere.'

She's so innocent. And sweet.

And she tells me the name of all the rocks she collected while I was busy with the other two.

Karis' class starts first so her pictures will be first.

Stretches on the barre. She's paying attention and all is good.

What?? Hold on a second, I'm pretty sure napping on the barre is not something I'm willing to pay for during class! Wake up Karis! UGH!

Silas' karate is starting so we'll move on before I get all mad and go back to pretending she's actually doing something productive during class.

My boy is the shortest and youngest one in class by a long shot. His instructors are so good and we have loved the first month of karate. Until they give him a CHAIR! I can have them sit and nap at home! This had better be good.

At least he's doing something in his chair. PHEW!

If you notice in the above pictures Silas isn't protecting his head. Which is one of the first rules in karate. But then again I think all the rules are about the first rules in peewee karate.

His instructor is pretty good at getting his attention. Please note the huge smile on his face. Thank you.

At the end of class their instructors offer constructive criticism. I always ask him what they told him and he always replies with a big 'huh?' So I guess we'll never know.

"It's time to go, mom. Remember me?"

They bow out and we go home.
Except right now it's time for the second class of the week and we are late for class because I've been working on this and lost track of time!
