Spring cleaning

The two big kids were sick today so I took advantage of that and brace yourself. . . turned on the tv, planted them on the couch and spent the day spring cleaning.

It doesn't really matter whether or not the groundhog saw his shadow when you live in the desert. Our seasons range from warm to hot with maybe a week of winter a year. And when I say winter I really mean highs in the 50s and lows around freezing.

So back to the cleaning.

I scrubbed and organized and straightened all day long with just a few minutes here and there to take a break. And my house doesn't look any cleaner than it did when I started. Now I just have stuff pulled out from kitchen cabinets that either need to be put away somewhere else or donated. The upside of that is that the inside of my cabinets are clean and organized (and so is my refrigerator!). So when Chris comes back home and wonders why he doesn't have any clean socks I'll make sure to direct him to the cabinets to prove that I didn't just sit around and play farmtown on facebook all day! LOL

This is why I needed to clean out the kitchen any way. Ready? I found this in there today:

Not just a picture, but a cd from our first Christmas living in Tucson (2004). We discovered just days before Christmas that Chris would actually get a few days off for the holiday so we decided to take a trip to San Diego to see Chris' aunt and uncle! We had a great trip. It was my first time seeing the ocean and first time in California. (I had seen the gulf before but was told that didn't count?)

But it leads me to wonder - why did I ever put that in the kitchen?!?
