Chris called a few days ago from work. Which is kinda rare. I'm one of those wives that tries to not bother him while he's at work simply because I figure he has a lot of work to do and the more I bug him the longer he has to stay at work that day. You get the point.
So he calls me from work. And here's our conversation:
Chris: Are you busy on Friday? Say around 14:00?
Me: Well, we don't have any 'real' plans, but that is smack dab in the middle of nap time for Caedis. Why?
Chris: We have staff pictures on Friday and need a photographer. You up for it?
Silence. Palms sweaty. Chris works for a full bird Colonel. He's one of the most personable guys, really sweet, but still. Full bird. All I've ever done is take pictures of the kids and I'm still very much trying to figure out how to use this camera. . .
Chris: You still there? Are you ok?
Me: Um, yeah, um, hold on, you want me to take pictures of COLONELS?
Chris: Yeah, can you do it or not?
Me: What's the other option?
Chris: Someone with a point and shoot, so I figure you have the better camera which is why I called you.
Me: To take pictures of Colonels?
Chris: Yes.
Me: I guess I can do it?
Chris: Great, Thanks!
So I showed up yesterday nervous, no one has ever relied upon me to take pictures for them that actually need to hang on a wall and really I only got the camera just to take pictures of my kids. Really, the only reason.
These are with Chris' boss' plane and they wouldn't listen to me about the sun being in their faces and making shadows.
As it turned out they weren't all Full Bird Colonels. :) Close, though.
